Past: Lakefront Building History
In 1903, the Palmer Boat Company built this factory and showroom where the Lake Geneva Marine Company now stands. The Palmer Company was well known for fast, high performance inland sail boats and ice boats, and many of them were raced on Geneva Lake. In 1931, a fire destroyed the original structure; its replacement is the core of the building that exists today. Learn More
Present: Lakefront Building 1990-2010
The Village of Fontana purchased the lakefront building in 1973, and reduced the building to a third of its original size. Lake Geneva Marine Company assumed the lease in 1990, and renovated the remaining section of the building for its marina sales and service business. Learn More
